Michael Kelly was born on May 22, 1969 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to parents Maureen Michael Kelly. He grew up in Lawrenceville, Georgia. His father is of Irish descent and his mother is of Italian ancestry. After completing high school, Kelly enrolled at Coastal Carolina University. He graduated in 1992 with a degree in performing arts.

Career

Kelly began his career in acting soon after completing his degree in performing arts. He landed his first onscreen role in 1994 when he was cast in an episode of "Lifestories: Families in Crisis." His next roles came in the 1998 films "Origin of the Species" and "River Red." In 1999, he appeared in the film "Man on the Moon" as Michael Kaufman.
