Final Fantasy XIV's Patch 6.5, titled Growing Light, will bring the highly anticipated Summing up to the Endwalker storyline, marking the end of the expansion that launched almost two years ago. Patch 6.5 Growing Light will officially release on October 3, with the game undergoing a 24-hour maintenance period starting from 6 a.m. ET on October 2. The second part of the patch, 6.55, is scheduled to be released sometime in January 2024.

New Main Quest and Sidequests

The patch introduces seven new Main Scenario Quests, which include a new Dungeon and Trial. The Lunar Subterrane dungeon, inspired by FFIV, will serve as Golbez's sanctuary and lead players to a face-off with Zeromus in The Abyssal Fracture trial. Additionally, there will be a variety of sidequests available, such as Tataru's Grand Endeavor and Hildibrand Adventures.

New Alliance Raid and Variant Dungeon

This update boasts a thrilling Summing up to the Myths of the Realm Alliance Raid series with the addition of the third and final raid, Thaleia. Players will challenge the remaining gods of the Eorzean pantheon and earn new gear. The patch also introduces the Aloalo Island as the third Variant/Criterion dungeon, providing parties of four with branching pathways and difficult challenges.

Other Additions

Aside from the main content, Patch 6.5 brings several smaller additions, including an expansion of the free trial up to the Stormblood expansion and level 70. This enables trial players to experience jobs like Samurai and Red Mage. Players can also anticipate new PvP gear, mounts, minions, and various updates to existing features such as the Island Sanctuary and Triple Triad cards at Gold Saucer.
