Meghan Markle, the former star of the legal drama "Suits", has expressed her astonishment at the show's newfound resurgence on Netflix. The series, which originally aired from 2011 to 2019, has been attracting a fresh wave of viewers.

During an interview at Variety’s Power of Women event, Markle reflected on the show's incredible streaming success. Her reaction came after learning that "Suits" had amassed over 45 billion minutes viewed, as outlined by Nielsen streaming charts.

"Is that right?" she said, adding humorously, "But who’s counting?"

When probed about the reasons behind the show's surge, the Duchess admitted, "I have no idea." She continued to praise the experience she had on set, stating, "It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew, we had a really fun time. I was on it for seven seasons so, quite a bit."

Markle suggested that the massive amount of episodes available for binge-watching might be a factor, remarking, "Good shows are everlasting."

The Duchess of Sussex played a key role in "Suits" as Rachel Zane, a talented paralegal who eventually becomes an attorney. She parted ways with the show in 2017 after her engagement to Prince Harry was announced, bidding farewell to her acting career with her final episode in 2018.

Despite "Suits" concluding in 2019, its popularity has been revived through streaming platforms such as Netflix and Peacock. In October, the show notably secured the longest streak at the No. 1 position on Nielsen's weekly rankings.

By July, "Suits" rose to the top as the most-streamed acquired title and surpassed its own Nielsen record.

Discussing her departure from the show, Meghan told the BBC in a 2017 interview alongside Prince Harry, that she considered the transition as moving on to a new chapter in her life. "I don’t see it as giving anything up. I just see it as a change," she articulated. Reflecting on her seven-year stint with the show, she feels pride in her work and looks forward to her joint endeavors with Harry.
