Jared Leto added a thrilling chapter to his adventurous life when he ascended a world-famous structure in New York City. An artist, both on-screen and on stage, Leto embarked on a climb up the outside of the Empire State Building to fulfill a dream and to herald his band's international tour.

Speaking candidly, Leto expressed his emotions about the climb. "I was more excited than nervous to tell you the truth," he revealed. "But I have to be honest, it was very, very hard. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be."

"It's incredible," he reflected. "To watch the sun rise overlooking the city that's meant so much to me. New York stood for the place that you went to make your dreams come true."

"And as a young kid, I wanted to be an artist, and New York, with the Empire State Building as its symbol, was that place for me," he said. Leto's ascent covered the eastern facade of the building, spanning from the 86th to the 104th floor, near the pinnacle of the towering landmark.

Culminating his climb at the antenna's ice shield, Leto encountered a heartwarming surprise along the way. "I made it to the top, and I was just saying, I saw my mother in the window of the 80th floor, and that was a nice surprise," he disclosed.

Confirmed by officials, Leto made history as the first individual to legally navigate his way to the Empire State Building's summit. His climb, unlike a previous unsanctioned one in 1994 by Alain Robert, received approval and support.

"I've always had a fascination with the Empire State Building," he mused. "And I love to climb." Prepared with proper climbing gear, Leto was secured with ropes ensuring safety just in case.

Following this remarkable feat, when asked about his next challenge, Leto humorously responded: "Into bed. You climb right into bed." He expressed a special fondness for urban climbing, which, for him, is an exhilarating activity.

His band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, looks forward to their international tour, supporting their sixth studio album released in September, "It’s the End of the World but It’s a Beautiful Day."
