The iFixit team also highlights the challenges faced by independent repair shops participating in the Independent Repair Provider program. These shops are required to share customers' personal information with Apple and consent to five years of audits to perform Apple-approved repairs. Apple has not addressed the concerns raised regarding software-locked repairs.
