I've had the Mate 20 Pro for 5 days now and it's a great phone: the camera is decent (albeit a bit over-sharpened by huawei's image processing), it's super fast; with fantastic battery life (coming from a heavy user) I get between 7-9 hours of screen on time, the screen itself is great! HDR 10 compliant just like the Mate 10 Pro before it, with a bump up to 1440p which along with the HDR makes video look lifelike and immersive. My reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is due to Huawei's update schedule for the UK. The UK gets updates every 4+ months when other regions get them much sooner. Sadly, I've come to expect this with Huawei and have heard it's on the agenda of things to improve and I should hope so coming from a Mate 10 Pro (C782) still on the June security patch without GPU Turbo version 1! that's over 5 months without an update while other's are getting ready for EMUI 9 in different regions. With this said, the UK models of the Mate 20 Pro are on the pre-launch firmware - meaning features are missing, such as: security updates, camera improvements and effects that were advertised at the phones announcement event. These missing features are being demonstrated by Youtubers and it's rubbish that we have to wait extra time given that so many are complaining about it from previous phones not being up to date whilst the other regions are. It's a real shame since the phone itself is near perfect but let down by Huawei's rate of updates.***Update***I received the update with all the promised features on the 7th/11/2018.
Please be aware of the green bleeding screen issues affecting a number of these phones. The phone I recived seems to have this issue and developed after 4 days of use. There is no official response from Huawei yet! This is not great considering it is a £900 phone!!Great phone though and I hope it gets sorted with a replacement.Update: second phone and the issue developed again after 4 days/ lg screen panel
Upgraded from Oneplus 6 to this model. Very happy with performance and build quality. Doesn't suffer from the dreaded green screen issue which has been plaguing other users. The one i received has a BOE panel and not an LG one which is from what i gather was causing the issues.Overall great device....Note to reviews from 9/11 I have a BOE panel shipped by Amazon UK and have no issues to this date.UPDATE.... Sending this back. The camera has so many issues and the video quality is appalling compared to my previous OnePlus 6. Stabilisation is all over the shop going in and out of focus, jittery with jelly like effects at the side of the screen. Camera takes photos that are way too dark as well.
