Exploring New Horizons with the Young Champions of the High Republic
The adventure continues for the youngest protectors of peace in the galaxy as Season 1 of Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures brings forth new episodes to Disney+ and Disney Junior. Audiences will not only reconnect with their beloved younglings but also witness the eagerly awaited debut of iconic characters from Star Wars: The High Republic within the animated realm.

Cavan Scott, a leading creative voice behind The High Republic, shares his joy in seeing the universe expand. "This expansion was designed to offer something for fans of any age. Having Bell and Ember introduced to a new generation in Young Jedi Adventures feels both humbling and wonderful," Scott expresses.
Michael Olson, the showrunner of Young Jedi Adventures, is committed to inviting a new generation into the cherished galactic lore. "Hearing from parents whose kids have become fans through our show truly warms the heart," Olson comments.

The Calm Before The (Rising) Storm
The "Charhound Chase" episode, penned by Scott, brings Loden Greatstorm and his companions Bell Zettifar along with the charhound Ember, to the planet Tenoo. Scott savors the chance to depict Bell in a mentor role, providing young Kai with a figure worth looking up to, away from the usual chaos.
Fans will also get a peaceful glimpse of Loden Greatstorm, praised by Scott as a beacon of wisdom and serenity at the Temple on Tenoo. "It was refreshing to craft a tale with Loden as the revered and loved Master," says Scott, with a touch of amusement.

Drawing From Experience
In "Stuck in the Muck," an episode authored by Katie Kaniewski, young Jedi Kai, Lys, and Nubs confront the challenges of a visit to the new Starlight Beacon. Kaniewski draws from personal struggles with perfectionism, hoping to assure viewers that learning from errors is a universal and vital part of life.
As the younglings and their companions reach Starlight Beacon, they are welcomed by tour guide Estala Maru. Scott, who first introduced Maru in Marvel Comics, praises this opportunity to delve deeper into Maru's mentoring side.

Designing Starlight Beacon
Creating the interior of Starlight Beacon was an intricate process for the design team, who aimed to reflect its narrative significance. Olson explains, "We strived to create visual parallels with the Death Star while maintaining a distinct identity that aligns with the High Republic material."
Kaniewski shares her awe in scripting moments that bring the younglings into the famed Starlight Beacon, ensuring they're filled with wonder and significance.

Finding Their Voices
Matching the High Republic characters with the right voice actors was pivotal for the series. Olson details their excitement in casting Marcus Scribner as Bell Zettifar and Matt Yang King as Loden Greatstorm, both praised for their talent and warmth. Liam O'Brien brought his distinct charm to the voice of Estala Maru, delighting both cast and fans alike.
Looking to the Future
Olson teases diverse storylines for upcoming episodes, including a special journey with Master Yoda. "We have some stunning visual spectacles and new characters to introduce, along with intriguing narratives that prepare us for the rest of Season 1," Olson hints.
Among these narratives, viewers may find subtle High Republic Easter eggs woven in. Meanwhile, Scott whimsically suggests a potential spin-off focused on Ember, willing to contribute without cost.
