William Bonner, born William Bonemer Júnior on November 16, 1963, in São Paulo, Brazil, is currently the editor-in-chief and anchorman of the most-watched Brazilian news program, Jornal Nacional. He graduated from the University of São Paulo with a degree in Mass Communications.
In 1983, Bonner began his professional career in advertising. After two years, he joined TV Bandeirantes in São Paulo as an announcer and presenter. In 1986, he moved to Rede Globo in São Paulo, where he became an editor and presenter for a local television news show called SPTV. In addition, he hosted Fantástico in 1988 before moving to Rio de Janeiro. From 1989 to 1992, Bonner presented Jornal da Globo alongside Fátima Bernardes.

Between 1994 and 1996, Bonner served as the editor-in-chief and newscaster for the program Jornal Hoje. In April 1996, he obtained his current position as the lead anchor on Jornal Nacional, where he partners with PatrÃcia Poéta.
Recently, Bonner released a book called "Jornal Nacional: Modo de Fazer," which documents the history of the show since its inception 40 years ago. He currently resides in Rio de Janeiro with his wife Fátima and their triplets.
