Marilyn Burns, an American actress, had a net worth of $300 thousand. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, in 1949, and raised in Texas, Burns began her acting career while studying at the University of Texas at Austin. She made her film debut in 1970's "Brewster McCloud" and earned her drama degree a year later.

In 1974, Burns gained recognition for her role as Sally Hardesty in the horror film "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre", establishing herself as one of the original scream queens. Her portrayal of Linda Kasabian in "Helter Skelter" earned her three Emmy Award nominations. She also appeared in other films such as "Eaten Alive", "Kiss Daddy Goodbye", "Future-Kill", and "BoneBoys".

Throughout her career, Burns reprised her role as Sally Hardesty twice, first in 1994's "The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation" and later in 2013's "Texas Chainsaw 3D". She also starred as Beulah Standifer in "Sacrament", which premiered in 2014. At the time of her death, she had two yet-to-be-released films: "In a Madman's World" and "Mindflip".

Tragically, on August 5, 2014, Burns was found dead at her Houston home at the age of 65.
